o-who?

what a glorious day. i love college football, and i love winning. the red river rivalry wasn't the shootout we were expecting, it was a penalty-riddled roller coaster of emotion filled with physical football that, unfortunately, saw numerous players go down with injuries. we had fam over to eat rudy's bbq and watch the game...it was so much fun. i lost my voice and clapped my hands raw and bloody...i wanted this game so badly and was very pleased with the win. will muschamp's D pulled us through to victory. good times and hook 'em horns.

where men win glory

as soon as i heard about this book i knew i needed to read it. my favorite types of books are military books...with sports books being my next favorite...so a combination of the two with the intriguing story of pat tillman, had me right excited to read it. after seeing the library system had 40 holds on it already, i broke down and dropped the $21 for it...it has not disappointed. it's been a very interesting read for me. at times the author seems to piggy back the popular story of pat tillman to voice his anti-war opinions...but in reality, it seems to be well-researched and written. i guess pat tillman wasn't so much for the war in iraq, so it would make sense that this book echoes that sentiment. but when all is said and done, i picked up the book a few days ago and have pretty much just ripped through it, i'd recommend it to anyone interested in sports, military, or just an interesting story of an extremely loyal and committed man...a devoted American soldier.

a new niner

after a 72 day holdout, missing training camp, the preseason, and the first four games of the regular season, michael crabtree has finally signed a 6-year $32 mil deal w/ the niners. i was apprehensive when we drafted him...the nightmarish thought of him slipping by two Texas defenders to give tech the win in the horns only loss last season...then with the holdout i was beginning to really think the guy was a tool. i wanted to embrace him...i mean the dude is gonna rock jordans! it didn't take me long to start getting excited though...just seeing him in that niners red and gold goes a long way towards doing that. now to really win me over i just need to see him making some plays on the field. please excuse all my football posts...but these are my good times.

on the defensive...

i'm lovin the physicality that mike singletary has brought to the niners...they're playin some serious D. if it weren't for dadgum brett favre we'd be undefeated. this is a nice shot of bam-bam running back a 23 yard pick-6...throw 8 tackles and 2.5 sacks in with that and i'd say we're looking at nfc defensive player of the week. a 35-0 shutout w/ out our franchise rb...i know it was the rams, but i'll take a shutout win any way i can get it. good times.
