heartwarmer

saw this clip online the other day and watched it....pretty cool story. desean jackson was a clutch performer for me in fantasy football this year...glad to see he's got some off the field heart too.

little birds

So the Colonel came across some sweet little remote control helicopters at the PX and must have known the joy it would bring us Oliverson (and Ashton) boys. I got a lil AH-64 Apache attack bird...Charlie's been flying his non-stop since he got it...achieving a beautiful tactical landing on the ceiling fan...which, let me tell you, would be extremely difficult to successfully accomplish. Chrissy and I made a fun little video of it...lil bugger is quite mesmerizing when it's up in the air flying around. I've already made preparations to add to my little aviation squadron with a CH-47 on the way to bring some heavy lift and troop transport capabilities to the table. Good times.

The Prayer at Valley Forge

Well we had a great Christmas...I always hate to come to the end of the holidays. They really are my favorite time of year. For some time I've wanted the painting of George Washington kneeling in prayer. It brings together two things that I'm extremely passionate about in God and country. So this year I received a fine print of it in a nice frame...I love it! It looks really nice hanging up on the wall.

Among other things, I received a sweet longhorn deal formed out of metal, it's awesome. I've dubbed him "Stubbz". I really enjoyed hanging out with family, eating good food, and just enjoying the holidays. Only 357 more days until Christmas 2011!!!

On Friday I took the oath of enlistment into the United States Army. I enlisted in the Army and will go to basic combat training this summer-upon finishing that I will then move on to the Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, GA. I'm honored at the thought of being an officer in the U.S. Army, and am very excited about the adventures that lie ahead. It really is a dream come true. Since childhood, I've been very passionate about the military. I've always looked up to my Dad so much...and I've always been so proud to have a father in the Army...I watched him diligently put on his soldier's uniform for my entire life. I was thrilled to raise my arm to the square, look my Dad in the eyes, and promise to defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies. Army strong.
